Cask: Ex Sherry
No 10: Smögen ”Sherry Octaves”, released in the spring of 2017 as a 4 yo bottling at 53,6 % from no less than 18 small octave sized ex Sherry casks, downsized from really old bodega casks and literally dripping with Oloroso Sherry character. Cask: First fill ex-Oloroso Sherry quarter casks
No 13: Smögen ”Sherry Quarters”, a 5 yo bottling at 61 % abv from ten first fill ex Oloroso Sherry quarter casks downsized from ancient bodega Sherry casks, released in the summer of 2018. A tapestry of sherried notes on both nose and palate, but very clearly underpinned by malty notes as baked bread and grist, with an ever increasingly obvious peat reek as the whisky is consumed.

Cask: Ex Sauternes barriques
No 14: Smögen ”Jubilee (2018)”, a 7 yo bottling at 58 % abv vatted together from a couple of ex Sauternes barriques filled in 2011, in order to commemorate the distillery turning eight years old. Made available solely to those that were present at the celebrations, in August 2018, this is a complex whisky with generous fruity and honeyed notes to complement the massive malty and peat smoke notes.

Cask: French Oak quarter casks
No 15: Smögen ”Primör Revisited”, a 6 yo bottling at a whopping 68,2 % abv, matured as the second fill in the same (remaining) eight casks as the very first bottling, ”Primör”. As a second fill, the distillate especially at this strength really dominates the character with gritty and bready malt and plenty of peat reek, but the small quarter casks of heavily toasted French oak set their mark as well with plenty of polished oak, apricot and cherry pips, clove and ginger notes. Released with 1616 bottles in the autumn of 2019.
